Fabrice's airbox intake mod
Another variation on the 820 airbox
theme, Fabrice has put together a clever system that uses air, both from the left hand
side engine air intake AND from under the car, as per the original K&N 57i kit. Pictured opposite (left) are the parts he used. From the left lower corner, clock-wise: Rover 820 airbox, K&N Filter 'Charger' (cleaner) kit, 100mm diameter flexible hose, domestic waste Y-piece pipe, 4 jubilee clips. |

Pictured left, opposite, the assembled
air intake system. The 100mm flexible hose is ducted towards the left hand side air
intake, as per the original airbox instructions. At the other side of the 'Y' piece are
inserted the original air ducts from the K&N 57i kit. These are suspended under the
subframe using one of Tom Randell's K&N brackets (note that K&N Kit 57-0248
already comes with a bracket for mounting the ducts). This assembly is attached to the Rover 820 airbox by a further length of 100mm hose. |
